West Cornwall's wildlife - how can I help?

West Penwith supports over 25 habitats and many species of local and national conservation concern.

Follow these points to help conserve Penwith’s natural environment:

  • be informed- attend local guided walks and talks, use visitor centres and guides
  • get involved- join a conservation organisation or become a volunteer
  • seek advice- manage your land for wildlife, protect important wildlife sites
  • enjoy the countryside without disturbing wildlife, read signs and follow the countryside code
  • explore on public transport and by using responsible activity providers
  • invest in wildlife – buy local products from, or stay in accommodation with land managed for wildlife
  • report wildlife crime – contact your local Wildlife Crime Officer on 08452 777444 where you think crimes are being committed
  • spread the word, everyone can make the difference
